We are currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Manager for one of Europe’s leading utilities companies. Based out of their Dublin office you will oversee a number of up and coming projects on a national scale.

 The Role

• The sucessful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans that ensure corporate sustainable development; coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health
  
• leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices ensuring compliance with environmental legislation
  
• Auditing, analysing and reporting environmental performance to external clients and regulatory bodies
  
• Carrying out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organisation's environmental risks and financial costs;
  
• Promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of an organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility;
  
• Managing the development and implementation of an environmental management system;
  
• Coordinating public hearings and consultations on environmental matters;
  
• Training staff at all levels in environmental issues and responsibilities;
  
• writing environmental reports, assuming the lead responsibility with the company;

Requirements

• Degrees Qualified in Environmental engineering or similar
  
• Diploma in Health & Safety is desired but not essential
  
• 10 years years experience i
  
• desirable Knowledge of process safety in heavy engineering, mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
  
• Good knowledge of the risks involved in generation plant and electrical equipment and in Power Plant/Wind Farm safety, health & welfare legislation, codes and standards.
  
• An understanding of integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001) a benefit
  
• Ability to influence and interact with a diverse range of people. Be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, etc.
